The film that my group made was Far Away Love. This is a romance film for the whole family. This film is set in france during WWI. It is about a young american soldier who when on leave finds him self at the house of a french farmer. He soon falls in love with the farmers daughter. When he must leave to go back to the front lines the daughter follows him without him knowing. She soon finds herself bought in the middle of a battle in no mans land. Our young soldier sees her and steals a white stallion and rides out of the smoke and gunfire to save her. They then ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after.
We chose romance because romance films are very popular at this time and they are a film for the whole family to enjoy. We went with MGM because they are known for there big budget romance films. Also they had many of the stars and director that we need to make this movie so we would not have to buy actors from other studios.
We chose Victor Fleming for our director because he has directed many successful romance films and he was a good fit for ours. Our lead actor and actress are Clark Gable and Greta Garbo. Altho they are a little older for their roles we are focusing on makeup with William Tuttle, one of the best, to make them appear a younger age. They also fit because they are huge stars at this time and are both from MGM.
The hays code works with our film because we will not show or suggest any explicit romance and violence. We will however show some kissing and you will hear gunfire and see guns but you will not see any one get shot.
I don't think that I would have done anything differently. I liked the way our group worked together and found the best fit for everything in our production of this movie.

Flight is a 2012 film co-produced and directed by Robert Zemeckis. This film stars Denzel Washington, with Don Cheadle, Melissa Leo, and Bruce Greenwood in a 139 minute movie about a plane crash and the aftermath that follows. Whip Whitaker a commercial airline pilot, alcoholic and recreational drug user has to fly flight #227 to Atlanta from Orlando. Immediately after take off they encounter extremely heavy turbulance in a huge storm. They finally make it above the clouds and have smooth flying. When they begin to descent something goes very wrong and they turn into a vertical nose dive. Whip has to turn the plane inverted in order to regain control and make a crash landing. In the crash six people die and many are injured including Whip and his co pilot. When the NTSB investigates what happened they find that Whips blood alcohol level is .2 and that he was high on coke at the time of the flight. The rest of the movie shows Whips fight with alcoholism and the trial of what caused the six people to die on the plane.I would give this movie an eight out of ten stars. It was a great combination of action, suspense and emotion. Denzel does an awesome job of playing his drunk but yet very confident and capable character of Whip Whitaker. I thought that the story line was very good and very original. I liked how they put the plane crash and only the first 20 min of the movie and the rest was about Whip and his struggles to find who he really was and face his fears. I also liked the way they filmed the movie they would use many different styles of filming to show different perspectives and moods.
The coolest scene to me was right after the plane crashed. It sets the camera as Whips point of view as he is slowly dragged out of the cockpit an into the field where the plane crashed. The viewer sees glimpses of the burning plane, hurt and survived passengers, and the immediate chaos after the crash. It gives you a sense of what every one that is there is going through. They keep the same camera view into the next scene as Whip wakes up in a hospital bed. I think that this scene is so original and contrasts the way the rest of the movie is filmed. it makes this scene feel more important to the viewer and shows what exactly Whip is going through and his reactions to this event.
